Ernest Hemingway In My Studio
"A Clean, Well-Lighted Place" by Ernest Hemingway is a short story I read in high school. I don't remember the exact storyline, but I sure use the title as my mantra when my studio space becomes a jumbled mess.
This is a recurring situation, because I'm a spreader. I wear my brain on the outside of my head and feel it's my duty to fill up any available surface with my thought process. Somehow, this has a way of turning into endless piles of artistic crap!
Organization has never been my strong suit, but I crave it. I know it brings focus and productivity into my life, and like magic, it calms my busy brain.
